Tinder: Is it a Catch?
When you think about Dating online you’ll probably come across a very popular app. Tinder is a widely spread app because of it’s simplicity. Over time it got developed further and subscriptions were introduced. Like always; Startups start free and somewhen you have to either pay for with money or data. The developers of Tinder decided to go for both and bound their app on Facebook first before losing the restrictions and embedded phone number registrations.
People who went first to Tinder were
only mostly interested in sexual relationships. Over time it changed like on every dating site or app.
I, for myself came across Tinder like described above but also quit pretty fast for good. I was never looking for a sexual relationship only. When I came back to it, they introduced the “Tinder Plus” subscription and when I came back now, they introduced the “Tinder Gold” subscription. I went for a gold subscription for a full year. It offers the best option to be successful and if I get lucky I won’t need a full year to find someone. But do I get a match faster or is it a catch?
Paying for a dating app might not be everybody’s thing but not paying for it could extend your search. You have to make sure what you are going for. A subscription is not the golden ticket. It could be a catch depending on which kind dating platform you use. You have to work on your profile first and study the options of the subscriptions. For Tinder the subscriptions offer very useful extended functionality. I don’t see it as a catch.
A lot of possibilities you have now. You could be a lucky one and find someone with the free version or you optimize your search.
Optimize Tinder for yourself
Optimization of your search should include a full profile with a description of yourself with informations about what you look for.
I tried it with different texts and the best results you get if you’re honest and a bit more specific about the person you look for. To like everyone is a failing game of try and error and just will eat up your time. If you play around like some do and just go for as most matches as you can, you’ll fail too as many report.
What makes you much more successful too are the photos you chose for your profile. If you use ones with bad quality or you try to hide yourself you’ll extend your search and get poor results. If you use heavenly edited photos you end up with the same boring results. Just be you for your text and photos and don’t take everything too seriously. Start communicating and be honest then you find someone you’ll love.
Tinder is a working app for the first contact. After a few days of communication you should switch over to something more personal like Threema. A messenger that does not require a phone number and keeps you safe from strangers. More about the Threema app in a post later here on my blog.
